Lives and works in Groningen
From 2007 to 2012 I studied at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen. I followed this up with lessons at the Classic Art Academy in Groningen from 2013 to 2015. In 2015 I also followed lessons at the Florence Academy of Art.
Body of work
For the past year I have been working on and expanding my collection of work. I presented this collection in a solo-exposition in the Martini Church in Groningen in July and August of 2016, under the title Beauty of Religion.
I draw inspiration from, among other things, my own upbringing, the Christian tradition. From within this tradition come the stories in the Bible which inspire my works. These stories describe the human nature in all her simplicity, complexity and drama. I try to portray these human emotions in my work. My style can be described as figurative with a dramatic and religious flair.
I work with oil paint on canvas or panel.
